GAÏA

GAÏA (2021)
A combine both a painting and sculpture, Gaïa evokes our mother earth seen from the infinite darkness of space.
The visitor, in an immersive experience, mobilizes all his senses, and beyond his visual perception, confronts the material, feels the invisible.
For the spectator who becomes an involved actor in the work, the immersion time is a dreamlike and sensory experience which leads him to experience, to react.
His perception of forms is deliberately disrupted, blurring his lucidity and the distinction between reality and illusion.
The physical experience of the crossing makes us more aware of the magical beauty, but also of the fragility of the planet.
Gaia illustrates in its deformations the Anthropocene, and the harmful impact of man on ecosystems, which leads to unprecedented planetary disorder.
But after every visit, Gaïa returns to her former self with a steady respiring sway prompted by a gentle breeze.
Making the Earth finally breathe, a utopian image may be ?
Message of artistic hope certainly.
